Van Mark Products Corporation was founded in 1964 by Gene Van Cleave with the goal of making the best portable bending brakes in the world. Gene originally started a manufacturing company in 1960 called Castle Stone which made precast stone for exterior cladding. While there, he developed the first portable bending brake used nationwide for light gauge aluminum and then later sold the company. Family owned and operated for over half a century, today Van Mark is run by Gene’s son Jeff Van Cleave, currently the president and owner. Van Mark has always been focused on designing and producing tools that are both affordable and reliable for their end users. The tools are known for being the strongest in the industry and having the least amount of maintenance or adjustments needed of any similar tools.

Van Mark started by designing and manufacturing the Trim-A-Brake in 1964 and soon followed with a number of unique tools that were patented and produced including the Trim-A-Slitter, Trim-A-Louver, Trim-A-Table and CoilCradle.

In 1983 the first cam operated “hemming” brake was introduced by Van Mark, the Mark I Series. To this day Van Mark’s cam operated bending brakes are considered the premium tools in the industry by contractors worldwide. Many other innovative tools were developed based on the virtually adjustment and maintenance free cam design including the Mark IV Industrial, Mark II TrimMaster, Metal Master and Metal Master Industrial. Also, many accessory tools were developed to save the end users time that work in conjunction with Van Mark’s Brakes including the TrimFormer, TrimCutter, CoilDispenser, UniLeg and UniStand.

Most recently the Trim-A-Gutter portable forming tool was introduced allowing custom gutter hoods to be formed and installed on the job site to fit the needs of each specific installation need.

Van Mark tools are widely used in the residential exterior remodeling and building industry, as well as the metal roofing and post frame building industry, and have always been rated the #1 tools in the Rental industry.
