METAL SALES
BAY CITY, MICHIGAN
From 1 Location to 21 in 50 Years – and We’re Just Getting Started
Fifty years in the making, the story of Metal Sales continues to be about building a stronger America.
In 1963, E. L. Stephens and C. L. Baird, Sr. were convinced that durable, custom light gauge metal roofing and siding products were the wave of the future. That year, the two men left their jobs at Reynolds Aluminum Supply Company and founded a new company in Louisville, Kentucky, called Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation. By 1966, Metal Sales was delivering orders of custom-cut and ready-to-install metal roofing and siding panels with matching accessories to customers within 7 to 10 days.
As the business grew and promising opportunities presented themselves, Metal Sales infrastructure continued to expand. Metal Sales’ second plant opened in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1969. In 1976, Metal Sales officially entered the industrial and commercial construction markets with the opening of its Jacksonville, Florida, plant.
Metal Sales owns and operates 21 manufacturing facilities in 17 States across America, including Alaska, and it serves every sector of the building market. Today, you’ll find Metal Sales roof and wall products everywhere throughout America – on big-budget architectural masterpieces in large metropolitan locales, on modest homes in suburbia, and on hard-working ranches and farms throughout rural America.
