The Stone Mill, Inc. | Michigan Stone & Stone Veneer My love affair with stone started at an early age. My mother would take me to the beaches of Lake Michigan looking for Petoskey stones and what she called Indian beads. Any fun stone we took home and polished. I am a 4th generation mason and started cutting natural thin veneer in 2000. I always had stone in my truck and started selling to other masons who wanted the extra attention to detail that only a mason could provide. CUSTOM STONE Most of our custom work can’t be shown at this time because of the privacy of the owners. We will add more images as they become available. Until then, please view the slide show of the sign that we built for in front of our business. We built the sign as an effort to showcase our abilities as craftsmen. LANDSCAPE STONE We have several options for your landscaping needs. We can match up any of your veneer stone that you select from The Stone Mill Inc. for your landscape design. We also have some original elements that we have created. Check out our fire rocks and stone planters in the image gallery. STONE MILL VENEER We manufacture two styles of veneer stone. Typical natural thin veneer stone and what we call boulder veneer. All of our veneer stone is quarried and processed here in Michigan. The natural thin veneer stone is cut to a average of 1 1/2 inches in thickness. Our boulder veneer is like the thin veneer only bigger. The stone is cut to 2.5 inches thick with some stone faces covering close to 2 square feet.
