Welch’s is the world’s leading marketer of Concord and Niagara-based grape products. The Welch’s Lawton plant is located in southwest Michigan among the Michigan members of the National Grape Cooperative. The Lawton plant has over 100+ employees actively practicing Lean Manufacturing Principles in high performance work teams. The Lean Manufacturing Principles are applied to Fruit Processing and Receiving, Storing 15MM gallons of juice, Bulk juice shipping and receiving through tankers and rail car, Bulk Juice Batching and Filtering, 6 Packaging Lines, a 15,000 square foot freezer, and 60,000 square feet of dry storage.
